Care & longevity
Hair Care Guide
Prarvi extensions, wigs, toppers, and hairpieces are 100% human hair, so they respond to care much like your own hair. A gentle, consistent routine keeps the cuticle smooth, protects color, and helps every piece last longer. Use this guide as a starting point, then ask Prarvi if you have a product-specific question.
Caring for extensions (wefts, clip-ins, micro links)
Washing: Wash every 6–10 wears or when product builds up. Use lukewarm water, a sulfate-free shampoo, and stroke the shampoo downward through the hair — never scrub or pile it on top. Rinse fully.
Conditioning: Apply conditioner from mid-length to ends and avoid the wefts or bonds at the top. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb or loop brush, working from the ends up.
Drying: Press out water with a towel, lay flat or hang to air-dry when possible, and avoid wringing. For clip-ins, remove before sleeping and store flat.
Heat styling: Always use a heat protectant and keep tools at a moderate temperature. Human hair tolerates heat, but repeated high heat shortens lifespan and can dull color.
Caring for wigs, toppers & hairpieces
Washing: Wash every 10–15 wears. Fill a basin with cool water and a small amount of gentle shampoo, swish the piece without rubbing, then rinse. Condition the lengths only, keeping conditioner away from the base, knots, or bonding to protect the construction.
Drying & storage: Blot with a towel and air-dry on a wig stand or mannequin to hold the cap shape. Store on a stand or in the original box, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Never store damp.
Install caution: Be gentle around the hairline, lace, and knots. Avoid heavy oils on the base, and follow your stylist's guidance for any adhesive or clip system. If a topper clips to your own hair, rotate placement slightly over time to avoid stress on one section of your scalp.
Textured hair basics (curly, wavy, coily)
Textured human hair needs more moisture and less manipulation. Detangle only when wet and conditioned, using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb from the ends up. Refresh curls with a light water-and-leave-in mist rather than re-washing.
Avoid brushing dry curls, which disrupts the pattern and causes frizz. Sleep on satin or silk, or wrap the hair, to preserve definition. Heat should be occasional — over-styling can loosen a natural curl or wave permanently.
Testing a sample before a full order
Samples are the safest way to confirm shade, texture, and quality before committing to a larger order — especially for blonde, grey, salt-and-pepper, ombre, and high-contrast blends. To test a sample: compare it against your own hair in natural daylight, do a gentle wash to check how it behaves wet and dry, and try a small heat-style pass if you plan to style the full order. Labs and salons can also use samples to check wash behavior and repeatability before a volume quote.

How long does human hair last with good care?
With gentle washing, low heat, and proper storage, extensions commonly last several months to a year or more depending on wear frequency and texture. Wigs and toppers can last longer because they are not worn every day. Color-treated and lighter shades are more delicate and benefit from extra moisture and less heat.
Can I color or bleach Prarvi hair?
Because it is 100% human hair, it can be colored, but coloring and especially bleaching are best left to a professional and are done at your own risk. We recommend going darker rather than lighter, testing on a sample first, and never over-processing. Custom pre-colored options may be a safer route — ask Prarvi before ordering.
What products should I avoid?
Avoid sulfate shampoos, alcohol-heavy products, and heavy oils or silicones on the base of a wig or topper. These can dry the hair, build up, or weaken knots and bonds. Lightweight, moisture-focused, sulfate-free products are safest.
