You don't need to be techy to get real value from AI — you need a free app (ChatGPT or Claude) and the right words to type. Here are 10 prompts a stylist can copy, fill in the [brackets], and use today. Tweak the result so it sounds like you, and you're done.
1. The after-appointment follow-up
Write a short, warm text to my client [name] who just got [service] today. Sound natural and personal, not salesy — thank them, say I'm here for questions, and suggest rebooking in about [8] weeks. Under 4 sentences.
2. The win-back
Write a friendly we-miss-you text to a client [name] I haven't seen in [4] months. No guilt, keep it personal, and give a small reason to come back (I have new openings). Short.
3. Tidy your client notes
Turn these notes into a clean client record with labels — Name, Last visit, Formula/Service, Lengths, Preferences, Sensitivities, Rebook cycle: [dictate or paste your notes]
4. Pre-appointment consultation questions
Write 6 short questions to text a new [color or extension] client before their appointment so I can prep — cover their goals, hair history, lifestyle, budget, and how much maintenance they want.
5. The transformation caption
Write 3 Instagram caption options for a before-and-after of [service] I just did. Confident and on-brand, each ending with DM to book, plus 5 relevant hashtags.
6. Fill a same-day opening
Write a fun 2-spots-left-today post with 3 caption options and a DM me to book call to action. I'm a stylist in [city].
7. The rebooking nudge, timed to them
Write a friendly reminder to [name] that it's about time for their [service] touch-up (they rebook every [8] weeks). Warm, brief, and include my booking link [link].
8. Aftercare they'll actually follow
Write simple take-home aftercare instructions for [extensions or color] as an easy list a client can save on their phone.
9. Instant DM answers
I'm a stylist who does [services]. Write short, friendly replies to these DMs: prices, do you do extensions, hours and how to book, how long it lasts. Each under 3 sentences, ending with my booking link [link].
10. Your on-call tutor
Explain [technique or color question] simply, and give me 3 tips to avoid the most common mistakes.
Start with one this week
Don't try all ten at once. Pick the one that costs you the most — usually the follow-up text or the saved DM replies — and add another in a couple of weeks.
One rule: AI writes the draft; you keep it human and honest. Never fake a review or pass off an AI image as a real client result. Your realness is why clients stay.
